Faro

De Sagres ao Guadiana, o distrito de Faro é região de sol, praia, peixe e marisco. O distrito de Faro, com uma área total de 4.954,5 quilómetros quadrados, é a região mais ao Sul de Portugal Continental.
O distrito de Faro corresponde à região do Algarve, nome que deriva da palavra árabe "Al-Gharb". A cultura árabe teve um contributo muito grande na arquitectura da região.

Nos arredores da cidade, importa destacar a beleza do Parque Natural da Ria Formosa, que se estende desde Cacela Velha à Quinta do Lago. Para além das praias e das serras algarvias, onde se podem fazer caminhadas, destaquem-se as animadas noites algarvias e os magníficos campos de golfe que se estendem por toda a região.
